Travnews: "interest in Uzbekistan is growing in Singapore"

The next issue of Travnews magazine, released by the National Association of Travel Agencies of Singapore (NATAS), published an article entitled “Exploring opportunities in Uzbekistan”.

NATAS - Singh non-governmental non-profit organization, established in May 1979, unites more than 400 travel agencies, as well as companies that are engaged in the hotel business, air travel, etc.

The article presented our republic as a country with a rich tradition of architecture, ancient history and unique culture. An important factor in the dynamic development of its tourism industry is a unique its location at the crossroads of the Silk Road, and more than 7,000 monuments of different epochs and civilizations. Many of them are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The publication reported that the country has developed radically new principles of state policy in the field of tourism since the first days of independence. In particular, it reported that the National Company “Uzbektourism” was established in 1992, which is responsible for implementation of the strategic policy in the area, and adopting a number of legislative acts regulating the development of the industry.

“Many new luxury hotels have been built over the past period in the country. Such world famous brands as Radisson, Lotte, Ramada, Wyndham have developed their activities. Along with this, a network of private institutions for small groups and family tourists is created in the capital and regions. Airports in Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Urgench, Navoi and Fergana are modernized”, - noted the publication.

The article also introduced readers to the undertaken measures to introduce new kinds of travel in Uzbekistan.

In particular, it provided information on the development of ecotourism, geotourism, extreme, health and cultural directions, as well as mountain climbing, rafting and fishing. It emphasized that the process takes into account the features and capabilities of the republic’s each region.

The magazine stated that the interest to Uzbekistan, its history and modern development is growing in Singapore. It noted that it is promoted with regular presentations’ and roundtables’ holding in the city-state, which are devoted to the republic’s tourism potential. “One of them took place at the prestigious Hilton Hotel in January this year with the participation of more than 60 tourist companies of Singapore and 18 partner organizations from Uzbekistan. Holding such events will continue”, - concluded the edition.
