In the US state of Maryland held cultural and educational evening devoted to Uzbekistan. The event, organized by the Embassy of our country in Washington DC in conjunction with the American dance group Silk Road Dance Company, was attended by representatives of political, business and cultural-humanitarian US circles.
During the event, a presentation of the social and economic potential of our country with extensive information on key areas of the modern development of the country. The guests also familiarized with the progress of Uzbekistan State program "Year of a healthy mother and child", where separately noted the role of state and local authorities, as well as non-governmental organizations in the implementation of the said program. It was emphasized that for 2016 targeted measures providing for the creation of additional conditions for the improvement of social welfare, including the health of women and children will be carried out in the republic.
During the cultural evening they organized a photo exhibition and video presentation of tourist potential of our country. Also it was presented the national stand of Uzbekistan, which allowed visitors to get acquainted with the exhibits of fine and decorative arts, arts and crafts.
The evening was accompanied by national dance songs from different regions of our country performed by artists of the American group Silk Road Dance Company. Presented a concert program was held under the title "Dance Treasures of Uzbekistan".
