Executive Committee of the Political Council of UzLiDeP and Council of Farmers of Uzbekistan conduct regional seminars on the theme "Farmers of Uzbekistan - with international recognition", aimed at explaining among entrepreneurs and farmers the priorities defined in the decree of the President of our country «On measures on improving system of procurement and use of fruits, vegetables, potatoes and melons" dated April 12, 2016.
One of these events was held in farm "Fayz" in Gijduvan district of Bukhara region to raise the professional knowledge and skills of farmers and entrepreneurs through the popularization of the best practices of advanced and successful farmers.
During the seminar, it was noted that thanks to successive reforms in the agriculture farms have become the leading force of the agricultural sector. In only one of Bukhara region last year more than 1,300 diversified farms were formed, the total number of operating farms of 5273. In 2016 is planned to create orchards and vineyards in 118 farms thereby creating 1223 new jobs
Moreover, in the region there are 11 enterprises for processing of agricultural products, 11 freezers with a capacity of 15 thousand tons. Many existing storages have been upgraded and storage capacity of which have increased to 100 thousand tons.
Sharif Malikov, head of the farm "Sharif Malikov" in Vabkent district:
— Our diversified farm is engaged in growing different crops and sells it, but thanks to the participation in this seminar, I received from the experts a lot of useful information and in the future I am going to process our products.
Ulmas Rakhmanov, deputy director of the joint venture "Gala -River" of Bukhara region:
— Our joint venture is specialized in fruit processing. Currently, 70-80 percent of our products are export-oriented. In order to improve product quality, we are going to use the freezer with a capacity of 400 tons. During the seminar we got acquainted with the activities of agricultural companies as well as specialists in detail explained to us the decision of the President of our country and the procedure for granting tax and customs benefits.
