The X Republican Contest of Puppet theaters of Uzbekistan began in Andijan.
This traditional festival, conducted in the framework of implementation of the State program “Year of Healthy Mother and Child”, was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sport Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Creative and Production Association “Uzbekteatr”, khokimiyat (administration) of Andijan region.
Minister of Culture and Sport Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan B.Ahmedov and others noted that under the leadership of the President of our country constant attention is given to the development of theatrical art. This festival also serves as a popularization of dramatic stage works, glorifying the independence of our country, peace, friendship and harmony, national values, further strengthening the spiritual and educational work among the youth. As in all regions of the country, large-scale creative, resurfacing and landscaping work is also carried out in the Andijan region. As a result of this, living standard of population is increased; the attitude of our fellow citizens to live, work is changing. Commissioning of the new building of the Andijan regional Puppet Theater is also a practical embodiment of this noble work.
This two-story building, commissioned within the preparation for the celebration of the 25th anniversary of independence of our Motherland, constructed by “Bunyodgarandservis”. On the ground floor of the building are located a cafe, a 300-seat auditorium and gym, office space for artists, a special workshop for the manufacture of dolls, sewing workshop, dressing room, on the second floor is the administration. On the broad square in front of the theater installed attractions for children, there will also be held various celebrations.
As part of the festival has been comprehensively analyzed the activity of puppet theaters, paid attention to the need to further strengthen cooperation between playwrights and theater collectives, the creation of highly artistic works in accordance with the current requirements.
On the festival creative collectives of professional puppet theaters from different regions of our country and Tashkent city show their performances in a variety of themes.
