The first racket of our country - Denis Istomin sucessfully participates in International Tennis tournament “Wimbledon 2016” held in London, England - one of the four prestigious tournaments, included in the series of “Grand Slam”.
In the second round of the prestigious competition, Denis Istomin played against Nicolas Almagro from Spain and defeated him with a score of 6:4, 7:6, and 6:2. In the third round, he will be facing off with David Goffin from Belgium.
Our tennis player, Akgul Amanmuradova reached the quarterfinals in doubles competition of the International Tournament “Torun Cup - 2016” continued in Poland.
Akgul in tandem with Valentyna Ivakhnenko from Russia in the first round defeated Vanda Lukacs from Hungary and Isabella Shinikova from Bulgaria, in the quarterfinals - Vivien Juhaszova from Slovakia and Iryna Shymanovich from Belarus. Akgul and Valentine in the semi-finals will play against duet of Justyna Jegiolka from Poland and Valentina Strahova from Ukraine.
In doubles, in International Junior Tournament held in Great Britain, our talented tennis players Humoyun Sultonov and Jurabek Karimov reached the final.
Humoyun Sultonov and Jurabek Karimov in the semifinals defeated tennis players from Japan Naoki Tajima and Yunosuke Tanaka with a score of 7:6, 6:1. Our young tennis players in the semi-final will face off with Vasil Kirkov and Ulises Blanch from America.
