Uzbekistan and Russia are working to create “green corridor” for textile products

Uzbekistan and Russia are working on the project on creation of “green corridor” for textile products from Uzbekistan.

Yevgeny Ryjov, Head of the Department for Development of Domestic Trade, Light Industry and Legalization of Products of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, said that creation of the “green corridor” for textile products from Uzbekistan will increase the share of legal supplies to Russia.

According to him, the parties intend to reduce the level of gray and black imports from Uzbekistan at the expense of the “green corridor”.

Within the framework of this project, the parties will simplify the passage of customs procedures, as well as warehouse logistics. According to him, the textile hub, which will focus on supplies of products from Uzbekistan, will be located in Ivanovo city, which is the center of the textile industry in Russia.

Ryjov noted that over the past two years, against the backdrop of growth in volumes, the structure of supplies of textile products from Uzbekistan to Russia has changed. “No one is talking about the supply of cotton fiber, we are talking more about finished products of the highest quality, about yarn, fabrics,” he added.
