Director of Uzbektelecom JSC Alisher Zufarov said that in a year and a half a 5G network can be launched in Uzbekistan.
On September 24, within the framework of ICTWEEK-2019, a press conference was held at the International Trade Center in Tashkent. The event was attended by representatives of Uzbektelecom JSC, Huawei, the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications and IT technopark employees.
The head of Uztelecom noted that waiting for the right moment to switch to 5G could lead to lagging behind new technologies.
“Many users say that they are not yet ready for the 5G network, because to connect to the network you need a device that supports it. If we take into account the potential of the population, and then focus on improving technology, we can lag far behind,” Zufarov said.
According to him, the launch of 5G in Uzbekistan will take at least a year and a half. Sometimes plans differ from practice. Timing may also change.
