Vaccination with second and third doses of Chinese-Uzbek vaccine suspended

It has been instructed that people of Uzbekistan will be vaccinated with only one dose of the Chinese-Uzbek vaccine for a week.

Starting from August 9, vaccination with the second and third doses of ZF-UZ-VAC-2001 vaccine has been suspended in Uzbekistan for 1 week. This was reported to Kun.uz by the press secretary of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance and Public Health Service Muhammadjon Bozorov.

Kun.uz has been receiving complaints from citizens who received the first dose of the Uzbek-Chinese vaccine (ZF-UZ-VAC-2001). It turned out that citizens who applied to the vaccination centers to receive the next dose of the vaccine were asked to come after a week. This raises many questions from the public. Because people have not been warned about it in advance.

Kun.uz correspondent contacted the press secretary of the Sanitary-Epidemiological Surveillance and Public Health Service Muhammadjon Bozorov for clarification. He confirmed that from August 9, vaccination with the second and third doses of the Uzbek-Chinese vaccine has been suspended.

“Due to the situation in the country, starting from August 9, ZF-UZ-VAC-2001 vaccine will be used at vaccination points only for the first dose. Vaccination with the second and third doses is suspended for 1 week,”he said.

Bozorov also provided Kun.uz with a letter from Dilorom Tursunova, the head of immunization affairs of the Health Ministry, on the issue.

She denied the fact that such a situation occurred due to a lack of vaccines.

“Recently, several types of coronavirus vaccines have arrived in Uzbekistan, and vaccination work has intensified.

If we look at the statistics, there is a sharp difference between the number of people vaccinated with the first dose and those vaccinated with the second and third doses. It will take time to keep track of them, enter data correctly on the vaccine.uz platform and sort among the vaccinated people according to the doses.
For this reason, only the first dose of this vaccine will be carried out for a period of 1 week. After that, the vaccine will administered with the remaining doses. This hiatus is taking place only to plan the vaccination process,” the healthcare official said.

It should be recalled that 2 million doses of Chinese-Uzbek vaccine were delivered to Uzbekistan on August 5-6.
