Three Uzbeks who became victims of human trafficking in Thailand provided assistance 

The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Bangkok calls on fellow citizens to be vigilant when receiving job offers in Thailand.

19-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan J.M. appealed to the Consulate General of our country in Bangkok and reported that she had become a victim of human trafficking and was left without housing and means of living in Thailand, Kun.uz correspondent reported.

At the request of the citizen, together with the Thai police, preliminary investigative actions were carried out, during which three suspects were identified, one of whom was detained at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi International Airport when he was about to leave the country. The search for the remaining two suspects is ongoing. 

Also, during the investigation, it was found that 2 more citizens of Uzbekistan were forced into slave labor as victims of human trafficking. 

Currently, the Consulate General, in cooperation with sponsoring organizations, is providing assistance to all citizens of Uzbekistan in obtaining temporary housing, food, clothing and air tickets to return to their homeland. 

Based on the foregoing, the Consulate General of Uzbekistan urges fellow citizens not to succumb to false promises before traveling to Thailand, to ignore easy job offers, to strictly comply with the requirements of local legislation when entering and staying in this country.
