Shavkat Mirziyoyev receives CIS and SCO secretary generals

The President of Uzbekistan emphasized the importance of full implementation of the agreements reached at the Samarkand and Delhi summits of the SCO.

On July 10, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received SCO Secretary General Zhang Min, who is in our country to monitor the presidential election.

The General Secretary sincerely congratulated the leader of our country on the successful election and his convincing victory.

The issues of further development of multilateral cooperation between the SCO member states and the implementation of the initiatives put forward at the Samarkand and Delhi summits of the Organization in 2022-2023 were discussed.

It was emphasized the importance of promoting joint programs and projects in the fields of economy, innovation and high technologies, interdependence in terms of transport, food and energy security, ecology and “green” technologies, tourism and culture, as well as security within the framework of the SCO.

Special attention was paid to the adoption of measures aimed at modernization of the SCO, improvement of the activities of the Organization’s structures, as well as strengthening of mutual trust and partnership in our wide region.

On July 10, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Sergey Lebedev.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Secretary General of the CIS sincerely congratulated the leader of our country on his convincing victory in the election of the President of Uzbekistan, and wished him success in ensuring the stable development and prosperity of our country.

It was noted that the election was held in full compliance with international standards.

It was emphasized that the high level of voter turnout and the results of the voting show that the population supports and trusts the implemented reform program.

Issues of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation within the CIS were also discussed.

In the following years, Uzbekistan signed more than 40 agreements of the Commonwealth, joined 24 sectoral bodies. The first meeting of the advisory council of the heads of election commissions of the CIS member states was held yesterday in Tashkent.

At the meeting, special attention was paid to the implementation of programs and projects aimed at expanding multilateral partnership.
