Tashkent city Youth Affairs Department signs contract with non-existent company
A contract worth 301 million 560 thousand UZS was signed between the Tashkent city Youth Affairs Department and "City Teour" LLC.
According to the contract, "City Teour" was supposed to provide transportation services for participants of the World Youth Festival from June 23 to July 1, 2024. However, the company was only registered in the state registry on June 24, 2024. The Youth Affairs Agency has started an inspection to investigate the situation.
Firstly, the contract specifies that the services began on June 23. However, "City Teour" LLC was registered in the state registry on June 24, 2024, meaning the company did not exist as a legal entity at the time it provided the services. This raises questions about the legality of the services provided.
Secondly, the order of the head of the Tashkent City Youth Affairs Department, which was cited as the basis for the contract, was signed on June 26, 2024. However, the services are stated to have begun before this order was signed.
According to the government decree No. 345-F from May 30, 2024, the government had already allocated transportation vehicles for the festival participants. Despite this, a contract worth 301 million 560 thousand UZS was signed to engage additional transportation services.
The official statement from the Youth Affairs Agency's press service indicates that a working group has been formed to investigate the matter, and an inspection has been initiated.
"Based on the results of the investigation, the information and the measures taken will be made public," the statement reads.
