A family of three dies from gas poisoning in Charvak
The incident may have been caused by the natural gas supply being turned off and then back on in the village.
In the Bustanlyk district of the Tashkent region, three members of a family — a husband, wife, and their child — died from carbon monoxide poisoning.
According to Hayot Shamsutdinov, the spokesperson for the General Prosecutor’s Office, the incident occurred on December 19, 2024, in the Khujakent village of the Bustanlyk district.
On that day, a resident of the Bustanlyk district, N.Kh., submitted a complaint to the head of the district’s Internal Affairs Department, reporting that her 35-year-old sister N.S., 43-year-old brother-in-law B.S., and 8-year-old nephew B.M. were found dead in their residence at 22 Fazogir Street, Apartment 4, located in the Fazogir neighborhood.
According to the preliminary report from the Bustanlyk District Forensic Medical Examination, the death of 35-year-old N.S. was caused by carbon monoxide poisoning.
It was noted that the Bustanlyk District Prosecutor's Office is conducting a pre-investigation inquiry into the incident.
A source from Kun.uz mentioned that the incident may have been triggered by the natural gas supply in the village being turned off and then back on. "In our village, they turn the gas off and on as they please," said a local resident.
Earlier, on December 17, 2024, four people — a 46-year-old man and his three children aged 18, 16, and 10 — died from carbon monoxide poisoning in Karshi city.
