Uzbekistan’s My Freighter targets Hungary and Saudi Arabia markets in expansion plan
Private airline My Freighter has announced its intention to expand operations to Hungary and Saudi Arabia by obtaining Air Operator Certificates (AOC) in these countries.
This strategic move, aimed at strengthening its international presence, was disclosed by the airline's co-founder and CEO, Abdulaziz Abdurakhmanov, during the Central Asian Cargo Aviation Summit held in late November, according to a report by ch-aviation.
Abdurakhmanov emphasized that new freight routes would enable the company to bolster its footprint in Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, and the Far East. "In the future, we plan to establish a new hub in Navoi, Uzbekistan, to facilitate cargo deliveries to Liège and Ostrava," he stated.
Additionally, My Freighter aims to penetrate the markets of Singapore, Malaysia, and Pacific nations while launching regular cargo services to India and Pakistan.
To support these ambitious plans, the airline intends to expand its fleet to 20 aircraft. Five new planes are expected to join the fleet in 2025, ensuring the capacity to serve the upcoming routes.
Founded in late 2019, My Freighter initially operated with chartered aircraft from Uzbekistan Airways. The company made a significant leap in October 2022 by acquiring its first Boeing 747-200. In the fall of 2023, it added its first Boeing 767, leased from the U.S.-based Cargo Aircraft Management.
