Youth Affairs Agency held accountable for exam fee reimbursement delays
The Ministry of Justice submitted a statement to the Youth Affairs Agency regarding the reimbursement of international exam fees for youths who achieved high scores. Following this, payments were made to 132 applicants, and a responsible official of the agency was held administratively accountable. Measures are being taken to reimburse the expenses of the remaining 177 applicants.
In November 2024, reports circulated on social media about the failure to reimburse the exam fees of youths who had achieved high scores in international exams.
In response to a question from a Kun.uz correspondent, Alisher Sadullayev, Director of the Youth Affairs Agency, announced that the expenses would be reimbursed soon. "The number of high-scoring youths exceeded our expectations. Therefore, we need to identify additional funding sources for the agency’s budget," he stated.
On December 27, the Ministry of Justice provided further information on the matter.
According to monitoring conducted by the ministry, the fees of 309 youths who achieved high scores in international exam systems had not been reimbursed. The ministry submitted a statement to the Youth Affairs Agency to ensure full reimbursement of exam fees in accordance with administrative regulations.
"As a result of implementing this recommendation, a total of 132 youths were reimbursed 236,850,000 UZS for their exam fees. Currently, the authorized body is taking the necessary measures to reimburse the exam fees of the remaining 177 youths," the ministry’s report stated.
It was also noted that a responsible official of the agency was held administratively accountable for identified legal violations.
