Earlier reports indicated that the Manchester club paid €40 million to RC Lens for the 20-year-old player, a fee that could increase further with bonuses.
With this transfer, Khusanov becomes the first Uzbek footballer to play in the English Premier League. Additionally, Abdukodir has set a new record as the most expensive transfer among Uzbek players. The previous record was held by Eldor Shomurodov, who moved from Genoa to Roma in 2021 for €18 million.
Khusanov has also made history at RC Lens by becoming the most expensive outgoing transfer in the French club’s history. Notably, Lens had signed him from Energetik-BGU in July 2023 for just €100,000.
