On March 14, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin to discuss key issues concerning the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia, according to the presidential press service.

At the start of the meeting, Volodin delivered Vladimir Putin’s greetings and warmest wishes to the President Mirziyoyev.
Special emphasis was placed on expanding inter-parliamentary cooperation to oversee the implementation of the agreements and treaties reached during the Russian President’s state visit to Uzbekistan in May 2023.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev underscored the importance of thorough preparations for the second session of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission and proposed holding it in Uzbekistan with the active participation of regional representatives from both countries.
