In Tashkent, an international conference “Interconnectedness in Central Asia: challenges and new opportunities” was held. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov delivered a speech at the meeting.
According to the press service of the MFA, Abdulaziz Komilov stated that the presidents of Central Asian countries will assemble in Tashkent in April.
The conference was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia. It was attended by Afghanistan, USA, Belgium, Great Britain, Denmark, Iran, Germany, Georgia, India, Israel Malaysia, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Turkey, Hungary, Ukraine, Russia, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, Canada, Egypt, China, Kuwait, Azerbaijan, more than 100 representatives of analytical centers from Finland, France, Sweden, Japan, as well as experts from the European Union, the Northern Areas Council, the Organization of American States, the Arctic Advisory Board, the World Bank, the World Trade Organization, the European Investment Bank and other international financial institutions.
Within the framework of a two-day conference, issues on the current state of regional cooperation and strengthening ties in security, trade, transport, water use, education and science were discussed.
