Starting from March 14, Kazakhstan has lifted restrictions introduced on February 19 on the import of fresh pomegranate from Uzbekistan, the press service of the State Inspectorate for plant quarantine under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan said.
An agreement on this was reached in Astana following the talks of the head of “Uzdavkarantin” Ibrokhim Ergashev with the Kazakh Deputy Minister of Agriculture Gulmira Isayeva and the Deputy Chairman of the Committee of State Inspection in the agricultural industry at the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Almabek Mars.
During the talks, the issues of strengthening cooperation between quarantine services of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, quarantine phytosanitary situations in the two countries and control over the export and import of quarantine products were also discussed.
