Uzbekistan appoints new ambassador to Finland

According to the Dunyo news agency, Uzbekistan’s newly appointed Ambassador to Finland, Temur Rakhmonov, officially presented his credentials to Finnish President Alexander Stubb.

Following the official ceremony, a dialogue was held in which both sides discussed the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Finland.

President Alexander Stubb expressed full support for the large-scale reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. He also reaffirmed Finland’s readiness to expand bilateral cooperation in this direction.

The Finnish leader commended the growing political dialogue and trade-economic cooperation between Helsinki and Tashkent, emphasized Uzbekistan’s important role in the region, and confirmed Finland’s interest in further developing political and economic ties with the country.

It should be noted that on March 13, 2024, Temur Rakhmonov traveled to Riga in his capacity as Uzbekistan’s newly appointed ambassador. Prior to this appointment, he served as Uzbekistan’s Consul General in the Russian city of Novosibirsk from 2021 to 2024.
