Uzbekistan plans to build two toll tunnels, as well as three toll highways. This is stated in the roadmap, approved by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The first tunnel will be built on the Kamchik pass. It is planned to complete the tender for its construction in March 2022 and sign an agreement with the winner of the tender by the end of the same month.
Another tunnel is planned to be built through the Takhtakaracha pass. The construction agreement with the winner of the tender is expected to be signed in May 2021.
The document also provides for the construction of three toll roads “Tashkent – Samarkand”, “Tashkent – Andijan” and “Syrdarya – Bakht”. Contracts with the winners of tenders for their construction should be signed in 2021.
