The Statistics Agency has presented information about Uzbekistan’s demographic indicators for the last 100 years.

According to the agency, as of January 1, 2023, the permanent population of the republic was 36,024,946 people.
The number of permanent residents of Uzbekistan over the years:
- 1920 - 4.4 million
- 1930 - 4.9 million
- 1940 - 6.6 million
- 1950 - 6.2 million
- 1960 - 8.4 million
- 1970 - 11.8 million
- 1980 - 15.8 million
- 1990 - 20.2 million
- 2000 - 24.5 million
- 2010 - 28 million
- 2020 - 33.9 million
