Nearly 50 people poisoned at a wedding in Samarkand region
The incident occurred in the Urgut district, Samarkand region, the press service of the Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health reported.
According to them, on the night of August 4, 7 people with a diagnosis of acute food poisoning, who live in the Jarkishlok mahalla, Urgut district, were admitted to the infectious diseases department of the local hospital. Another person was hospitalized in the regional infectious diseases hospital.
Later, doctors decided to conduct an appropriate check, and by going around the houses of the wedding participants, they identified the symptoms of poisoning in 41 more people. They were also hospitalized.
During the epidemiological investigation, it became known that all the victims ate mayonnaise salads at the wedding on August 3, and the salads were prepared at home the day before the event, on August 2. It is noted that the salads were not stored in the refrigerator.
The patients’ conditions are assessed as moderate.
Earlier, it was reported that 15 children were poisoned by a cake in a private kindergarten in Namangan.
