Uzbek athletes become winners of world sports games in hand-to-hand combat
At the World Sports Games held in Italy on September 5-10, the Uzbekistan national team in hand-to-hand combat bagged the 1st place in overall team standings with a total of 8 medals, the press service of the Hand-to-Hand Combat Federation reported.
About 6,000 athletes from a total of 30 sports took part in the World Sports Games. Athletes of the Uzbekistan national team won gold medals in six out of ten weight categories in hand-to-hand combat. Also, 1 gold and 1 silver medals were secured in the semi-contact event.
Female athletes who won gold medals:
• Normatova Guljakhan (NG) in 55 kg
• Polvonova Nilufar (Samarkand) in 65 kg
• +70 kg Jumanova Ughiloy (MIA)
Male athletes who won gold medals:
• Satorov Khusniddin (NG) in 65 kg weight
• Yuldoshev Daler (MD) in 75 kg
• Solijonov Jasur (MIA) in 80 kg weight
Also, Sodirjon Mahmudov won a gold medal and Nurillo Ibrokhimov won a silver medal in the semi-contact event.
