Uzbekistan reports 97.4 thousand marriages and 131.2 thousand births in H1 2024

The Public Services Agency has released information on the number of births in the first half of this year in Uzbekistan.

According to the data, over the past six months, 97,409 marriages were registered by the civil registry offices across the country, with 34,704 women, or 36%, taking their husband's surname. The average age for marriage was 24 years.

The number of divorces registered within one year of marriage was 1,050, with the highest number observed in Tashkent city.

It is reported that during this period, 4,816 men under the age of 20 became fathers.

Additionally:
- 2,309 men became fathers after the age of 50;
- 412 men became fathers after the age of 60;
- 34 men became fathers after the age of 70.
