Uzbekistan to introduce unified social card for streamlined access to public services

The announcement was made during a meeting chaired by the President to discuss the effectiveness of social protection initiatives and set priorities for 2025. Currently, citizens are required to carry over 10 different documents to access various social services, including birth certificates, disability certificates, pension books, student IDs, and bank cards. This paperwork burden has long been a challenge, and the new initiative aims to streamline the process.

President of Uzbekistan emphasized the need to eliminate this bureaucratic hassle and announced the launch of a unified social card that will replace the multiple documents required. The card will serve as a one-stop solution for accessing various social services, making life more convenient for citizens.

The new social card will provide a range of benefits, including free travel on public transport, compensation for utility bills and educational costs, and direct disbursement of pensions and aid funds.

The system will be trialed in Tashkent city and Yangiyol district until July 1, with plans for full implementation across the country by the end of the year.
