Citizen of Uzbekistan accused of fraud deported from Türkiye
A suspect who had been wanted for nearly a decade has been apprehended.
In a joint operation conducted by the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Türkiye and Uzbekistan, a suspect identified as "I.U.B.", born in 1969, was detained in Istanbul. Wanted since 2015 for numerous fraudulent activities in the car trade sector, the individual was deported to Uzbekistan on January 11, 2025, with the participation of consular officials.
Victims of the suspect’s fraudulent activities are urged to contact the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan or its subordinate agencies for further action.
Uzbek authorities emphasized their commitment to pursuing individuals who evade criminal responsibility by fleeing to foreign countries, including Türkiye. The principle of ensuring accountability for crimes will be upheld rigorously.
