Authorities seize 111 kg of narcotics smuggled from Tajikistan into Uzbekistan
A major drug raid in the Samarkand and Tashkent regions resulted in the seizure of 111 kilograms of narcotics. The operation led to the arrest of several individuals linked to the smuggling of large quantities of opium and hashish from Tajikistan into Uzbekistan.

According to law enforcement authorities, these drugs were seized during a series of targeted operations. In Samarkand, authorities detained three Tajik nationals, born in 1980, 1982, and 1989, who were smuggling 10 kilograms and 894 grams of opium from Panjakent district in Tajikistan’s Sughd region. They had brought the narcotics into Urgut district via bypass routes.
The operation continued and led to the arrest of a 43-year-old woman from Urgut district, who was an accomplice. Authorities discovered 13 kilograms and 85 grams of opium at her residence, which was seized following standard legal procedures.
In a separate case, law enforcement officers conducted a special search operation near the Uzbek-Tajik border in Bekabad district, Tashkent region. They discovered three plastic containers containing a total of 8 kilograms and 381 grams of opium, along with 59 kilograms and 296 grams of hashish, smuggled across the Dalvarzin canal from the Mastchoh district of Tajikistan into Bekabad.
Further investigation led to the arrest of four individuals, born in 1985, 1989, 1996, and 1997, who had arrived at the border to receive the narcotics. Notably, two of these individuals had prior criminal records.
In another case in Bekabad district, law enforcement officials discovered a sports bag left by unknown individuals approximately 400-500 meters from the Uzbek-Tajik border. Inside the bag were 3 kilograms and 942 grams of opium, as well as 15 kilograms and 473 grams of hashish, which were also seized following legal procedures.
As of now, criminal cases have been initiated under the relevant provisions of the Criminal Code, and preventive detention measures have been applied to the suspects.
