Russian Foreign Minister to visit Uzbekistan on April 22
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will pay an official visit to Tashkent on April 22–23. His visit will include talks with the President of Uzbekistan and detailed negotiations with the country’s Foreign Minister.
The visit was announced by Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry.
During the visit, Lavrov is expected to hold a meeting with the President of Uzbekistan and conduct comprehensive discussions with the Foreign Minister.
The main focus will be on the agreements reached during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s state visit to Uzbekistan, scheduled for May 2024. Particular attention will be given to advancing comprehensive strategic partnership and allied relations between Russia and Uzbekistan, the statement said.
It is worth noting that Lavrov was originally scheduled to visit Uzbekistan on October 28–29, 2024, but that trip was postponed at the time.
