Uzbekistan expands labor migration ties with Poland

Behzod Musayev, head of the Migration Agency, discussed the proposal with Michał Kamiński, Deputy Speaker of the Polish Senate. Kamiński highlighted the growing need for labor in Poland and other European countries, citing current demographic challenges.

“There is a large pool of talented young people in Uzbekistan, along with a well-established system for teaching foreign languages and in-demand professions,” Kamiński noted.

The two sides explored the potential for organizing training and retraining programs for Uzbek citizens aspiring to secure high-paying jobs in Polish companies. They also discussed simplifying visa procedures and launching dedicated programs to facilitate seasonal employment.

This development follows Uzbekistan’s similar labor migration discussions with Austria in late March. In addition, the government is in talks with South Korean authorities on easing visa regulations.

Earlier, in early March, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved a labor migration agreement with Germany. The agreement, originally signed in September 2024 during Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s visit to Uzbekistan, simplifies the process for Uzbek professionals to enter Germany for work.
