Tashkent metro to replace all ticket offices with machines by 2025
By the end of 2025, ticket vending machines will be installed at all stations of the Tashkent metro, and the positions of ticket office operators will be completely abolished.
According to the metro administration, the reduction of ticket office operator positions is being carried out in stages. As part of the first stage, 204 operator positions were eliminated in accordance with the relevant legal framework.
Automated ticket machines are expected to be installed across all metro stations by the end of the year. As a result, there will no longer be a need for ticket office operators or senior operators within the Tashkent metro.
The administration of the Tashkent Metro has announced plans to create new opportunities for affected employees. Each staff member whose position is being phased out will be offered the chance to attend vocational training courses, based on their interests and abilities. These courses will cover areas such as accounting, tailoring, confectionery, and other fields.
The costs of these training programs will be fully covered by the Tashkent Metro in accordance with established procedures.
