According to the agency’s press secretary, Navruz Norboboev, officials conducted inspections at several gas stations to check the sale of AI-80 gasoline, which was officially banned from sale last week. Between November 26 and December 2, inspectors visited 90 gas stations and collected 191 fuel samples.

Analysis revealed 23 cases of non-compliance with state standards, totaling 306,430 liters of substandard fuel.

Since the beginning of 2025, the agency has checked fuel quality at 632 gas stations, identifying violations at 210 locations and preventing the sale of 8.57 million liters of substandard fuel.

Authorities have instructed companies to restore product quality and warned of liability for selling fuels that do not meet technical regulations and produce excessive toxic emissions.

In February, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved a state program restricting the sale and use of low-octane gasoline. The initiative aims to ensure citizens have access to high-quality, environmentally friendly, and affordable fuel.

Since September 2, Uzbekneftegaz has stopped selling AI-80 gasoline through the commodity exchange. The state company has increased wholesale supplies of AI-92 gasoline and pledged to further expand availability in line with domestic demand.
