According to the embassy, messages and services claiming that applicants can already register for DV-2027 or increase their chances of winning are not accurate.
“The Diversity Visa (DV) 2027 entry registration period is not open at this time. We are aware of reports of fraudulent claims that DV-2027 entry is open and of individuals and services falsely claiming they can increase your chances of selection. This is not true,” the Embassy said in a statement.
According to the U.S. diplomatic mission, DV-2027 registration dates and details about changes to this year’s process will be announced by the U.S. Department of State when available.
In November, the U.S. State Department announced technical updates to the DV-2027 lottery application process. These changes are organizational and do not affect the program itself. The department also confirmed that a $1 fee will be required to submit a Green Card application, with an expected revenue of approximately $25 million from this initiative.
The Green Card is an official document that allows foreign nationals to legally work in the United States. The program operates as a lottery, requiring applicants to submit a specific form. Every year, thousands of people worldwide win the lottery and gain the opportunity to officially move to the United States.
In 2025, Uzbekistan ranked first in terms of winners, with 5,500 people selected. Kyrgyzstan followed with 3,000 winners, Tajikistan with 2,900, and Kazakhstan with 2,000.
