Daines congratulated Mirziyoyev and the people of Uzbekistan on the country’s 35th anniversary of independence, wishing them peace, well-being and prosperity, according to the statement.
The meeting focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the United States and expanding interparliamentary cooperation.
‘The sides expressed satisfaction with the unprecedented level of bilateral cooperation achieved in recent years and the high intensity of contacts and delegation exchanges’, the message reads.
Particular attention was paid to expanding trade, economic and investment ties. Major projects in energy, critical minerals, transport, agriculture, digital technologies and industry are continuing to move forward.
The sides also discussed prospects for expanding interregional cooperation, particularly with Montana, which Daines represents in the Senate.
Besides, the parties exchanged views on regional cooperation within the C5+1 format, as well as current regional and international issues.
