Who will Replace Oil Workers?

The Tashkent branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas is being expanded. From now on it will turn into a major force for training personnel for the oil and gas industry of the country. Students of the shut down oil and gas faculty of the Tashkent State Technical University will continue their education as of 2016/2017 academic year at this higher educational institution. This is followed from the resolution of the President of Uzbekistan dated May 2.

The demand of the branch of the Russian State University of oil and gas in the buildings will be resolved on account of reconstruction of facilities of currently liquidated Institute of ion-plasma and laser technologies of the Academy of Sciences and its specialized construction-technological bureau.

The currently eliminated oil and gas faculty of the Tashkent State Technical University (TSTU) named after Abu Raikhan Beruni will be replaced with two new departments – that of engineering systems and engineering-physical.

The building block of the former oil and gas faculty of the TSTU will accommodate the faculty of engineering systems, while the engineering-physical department will be housed next to the branch of the Russian State University of oil and gas in the buildings of the abolished Institute of ion-plasma technologies. The relevant chairs and laboratories of the TSTU will employ those researchers and engineering personnel of the abolished institute who will manage to successfully pass the compulsory attestation tests.
