A press conference has been held in Jizzakh on protecting motherhood and childhood by ensuring the implementation of the Year of Maternal and Child Health state programme and on promoting a healthy lifestyle.
It has been said that special attention is being paid under the leadership of the country’s President to taking good care of the population, especially mothers and children, giving them social support and creating decent living conditions for the people. The facts that this year was declared the Year of Maternal and Child Health and that the special state programme was worked out for this purpose help to further increase the effectiveness of work in this area.
“There is a plan to channel 621 billion 298 million soms into ensuring the implementation of the Year of Maternal and Child Health state programme,” says Gulnora Torayeva, deputy hokim (deputy governor) of Jizzakh Region and chairwoman of the regional women’s committee.
Attention is being focused on carrying out propagation measures in the region as part of the implementation of tasks relating to brining up a generation that is healthy and well in every respect in accordance with the state programme.
These include measures to conduct medical examinations of people getting married and to prevent early marriages and marriages between close relatives.
There was an exchange of views at the event on stepping up cooperation between state and public organizations in carrying out priority tasks specified in the state programme.
