350 thousand Russian tourists visited Uzbekistan in January-September 2018
In January – September 2018, over 350 thousand Russian tourists visited Uzbekistan, which is 1.3 times more compared to the same period last year, Uzbek ambassador to Russia Botirjon Asadov said at a meeting in Novosibirsk.
“In the first nine month of the current year, tourist inflow to Uzbekistan reached to 3.9 million people, out of which 350 thousand were citizens of the Russian Federation, RIA Novosti quoted Botirjon Asadov.
According to Mr. Asadov, in January – September 2018 more than 190 new tour operators started working in Uzbekistan, whereas in 2017 there were 128 only. Also, the diplomat noted that Tashkent simplified the visa regime for tourists.
Currently, citizens of 101 states can visit Uzbekistan for a 5-day period without having to obtain a visa, and citizens of 17 countries, including Russia, are granted a visa-free entry.
