20 Afghan forces were killed in Sar-i-Pul by Taliban
At least 20 Afghan military forces were killed in separate attacks by Taliban militants last night, Afghan media said on Tuesday.
22 more were wounded in the attacks which happened in Sayad district, Qashqari village on the outskirts of provincial capital and the highway between Sar-i-Pul and Jowzjan provinces, Zabihullah Amani, a spokesman for provincial governor, noted.
Mr. Amani said the areas targeted had fuel deposits and the attacks lasted until morning.
Those who died were members of national police, public protection forces and intelligence agency, the official stated.
Militants also suffered casualties in the counterattacks, he said without providing an exact figure.
