Botir Khodjayev becomes Minister of Economy and Industry
Botir Khodjayev became the Minister of Economy and Industry of Uzbekistan, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
Prior to his current appointment, he headed the Ministry of Economy.
Botir Khodjayev, born in 1956 in Tashkent, graduated from Tashkent Railway Engineering Institute.
In 2009–2011, he worked as Deputy Prime Minister - Chairman of the State Committee for Architecture and Construction. In 2011-2016, he was the First Deputy Minister of Economy. From 2016 to 2017 he headed the Ministry of Finance.
In addition, Ravshan Gulyamov was appointed First Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry.
Earlier, Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On measures to fundamentally improve the system for implementing state policy in the field of economic development”.
According to the decree, the Ministry of Economy of Uzbekistan has been transformed into the Ministry of Economy and Industry.
