Tashkent city administration refuted rumors on organizing “Immortal regiment” march

Social networks have published inaccurate information that the “Immortal regiment” march will take place in the city on May 9, the press service of the capital’s administration reports.

“There is inaccurate information published on the Internet that on May 9, the “Immortal regiment” march will take place in our city, which will take place from the “Fraternal tombs” complex to the “Eternal Flame” on the Mustakillik Square,” the Tashkent city administration said.

As stated by the press service, this information is not true, since the organizers did not receive permission to hold a mass event and the movement of the march-attendees was not agreed with relevant departments.

It is noted that not organized walking of a large number of people on sidewalks will create inconvenience for other citizens and guests of the city.

On May 9, an event dedicated to the Memory and Honor Day will take place at the “Fraternal tombs” complex. Any willing person can come and take part in the event, pay tribute to the memory of heroes who died on fronts of the Second World War. Also on this day, one can come and lay flowers at the Sorrowful Mother Monument and the “Eternal Flame” on the Mustakillik Square.

“On May 9, at 21:00, fireworks will be organized at the “Friendship of Nations” Square in honor of the holiday. In addition, an exhibition of military equipment will take place near the Ice Palace “Humo”. We invite you to visit these events. Law enforcement bodies will take all measures to ensure that the events are conducted orderly and without any incident,” the press service said.
