Switched on headlights have led to a decrease in the number of accidents - Tashkent Police Department
In Tashkent, there has been a decrease in traffic accidents after introduction of the requirement to turn on the dipped headlights or daytime running lights in the daytime from April 10. This was reported by the police department of the capital.
It is noted that the main purpose of the innovation was that drivers could see each other, especially considering the fact that some do not look in the side mirrors and rearview mirror when they intend to make a maneuver, and the sparkling lights behind cannot be missed. Besides, car with the switched on headlights has become more noticeable for pedestrians.
“Deputies were initially right when they approved the law introducing the requirement to switch on the dipped headlights or DRL during the daytime. The goal was to preserve the life and health of the largest number of road users. It should be noted that for the period from April 10 to May 17, traffic accidents occurred less by 29.4%. This testifies that the right decision has been made,” the police department emphasized.
