New traffic fine to be introduced from August 3

On May 2, Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the law “On introducing amendments and addenda to the Criminal, Criminal Procedural and the Administrative Liability Codes of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
Based on the aforementioned law, the relevant amendments were made to Article 135 of the Administrative Responsibility Code.
According to the changes, from August 3, if drivers of legal entities that transport passengers or cargoes do not have a certificate of professional development, they will have to pay a fine in the amount of one minimum monthly wage (223,000 soums).
Earlier, it was reported that from August 1, wages of employees of budgetary institutions and organizations, pensions, scholarships and benefits would increase by an average of 1.1 times. From this day, the minimum monthly wage will be 223,000 soums.
In addition, from September 1, in Uzbekistan, instead of the MMW, the minimum payout for labor (MPL), the base calculating amount (BCA) and calculating pension indicator (CPI) are introduced.
The BCA is used in determining the followings:
- the size of taxes, fees, fines, government duties and other payments for the provision of public services;
- the cost of a patent, license and other payments to engage in a certain type of business activity, the size of statutory and other funds (capital) of organizations, the cost of non-cash paid shares, other securities, the book value of assets of legal entities, the maximum amount of microcredits and leasing, and other financial-economic indicators.
