Viktor Zemtsev appointed head coach of Uzbekistan national triathlon team
Viktor Zemtsev, a ten-time winner of the Ironman Triathlon competitions, has been appointed head coach of the Uzbekistan national triathlon team, the press service of the Triathlon Federation of Uzbekistan reports.
Zemtsev conducts a special training program and studies the performance of athletes for selection in the national team. Under his leadership, athletes from Uzbekistan attended a training camp in France from August 15 to September 8, the report says.
The new head of the federation noted that following the competitions in Jordan and the final stage of the Uzbekistan Cup, the national team will be formed.
“The primary task at the moment is to enter the international arena, first of all, starting with achievements at the level of cups and Asian championships,” Zemtsev said.
It is worth noting that in July this year, Viktor Zemtsev arrived in Uzbekistan at an invitation of the Triathlon Federation. On July 16, he, as an international expert, took part in the summit of triathlon trainers, where he provided his recommendations on the development of triathlon in the country.
