A number of restrictions introduced for CB employees
Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the new version of the Law “On the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
The law defines the legal status, powers, functions of the Central Bank, its interaction with state bodies and other organizations.
The document introduces a number of restrictive measures for Central Bank employees. In particular, CB employees are prohibited from:
- engaging in any other types of paid activity, with the exception of scientific and teaching activities;
- being a member of the supervisory boards of banks, business administration bodies and business entities;
- disclosing or using in the interests of third parties information constituting a bank secret or other information, the access to which is limited in accordance with the legislation that has become known to him in connection with the performance of his official duties.
According to the law, now the involvement of Central Bank employees to conduct audits of the financial-economic activities of business entities and other entities specified in the law is not allowed.
