CEC Chairman says preliminary results of the elections will be announced today at 23:00
Preliminary results of the elections to the representative bodies of Uzbekistan will be announced today, December 22, at 23:00. This was announced by the Chairman of the Central Election Commission Mirzo-Ulugbek Abdusalomov.
“Until 10:00, no information has been received about violations of the electoral law,” the CEC Chairman said.
According to Abdusalomov, 120 cameras have been installed at 60 polling stations throughout Uzbekistan, the election process is broadcast online.
Elections continue at 10,260 polling stations in Uzbekistan and at 55 polling stations abroad. Japan, South Korea, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and India are the countries, where the voting has begun earlier.
In a test mode, at 20 polling stations of Uzbekistan, personal identification devices were installed using the biometric parameters of a person. If this experiment becomes successful, such devices will be installed at all polling stations in the upcoming elections.
According to Mirzo-Ulugbek Abdusalomov, 20 million 495 thousand 457 voters are registered in the automated electronic system, of which 18 million 797 thousand (91.7%) are registered in Uzbekistan, 1 million 697 thousand (8.3%) are registered abroad.
