Uzbekistan sends container train with export products to Turkey
JSC Uzbekistan Railways organized the shipment of container trains to the Republic of Turkey, the press service of the company reported.
The first batch of 90 containers of an export cargo of the JSC Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine departed from the Sergeli station (Tashkent). The route runs along the trans-Caucasian corridor “Baku – Tbilisi – Kars”.
The company emphasizes that such cargo transportation is planned to be organized weekly to Russia, the states of the European Union, China and other countries.
Logistic companies UE Uzbektemiryulekspeditsiya and JSC Uztemiryulkonteyner also take part in the organization of shipment. Specialists also provide advisory support to exporters – they are ready for a long-term partnership in terms of transportation of goods by rail.
It is noted that during cargo transportation, all the necessary preventive measures have been taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection. Freight wagons and containers have been thoroughly disinfected.
It should be recalled that the Special Republican Commission introduced a regime of complete suspension of transport communications between Uzbekistan and other countries due to coronavirus.
The Ministry of Transport reported that passenger transportation on buses, cars, railways and air transport in international destinations will be suspended. However, this restriction does not apply to freight transport.
