31 people who could not return to South Korea were sent back to their job places
Many citizens working in the Republic of Korea, who came back to Uzbekistan on vacation, were unable to return to work.
According to the External Labor Migration Agency, on June 10, 31 such citizens left for work in South Korea on a charter flight.
The agency has been in talks with the Human Resources Development Service of the Republic of Korea.
The talks set a number of strict requirements for citizens to enter the country.
In particular, citizens must agree for a 14-day compulsory quarantine upon arrival at the expense of their employer, and undergo a medical examination in Uzbekistan.
The Human Resources Development Service will also study the place of self-isolation specified in the citizen’s consent agreement. According to the study, citizens will be allowed to enter the Republic of Korea if the place of self-isolation meets the quarantine requirements.
At the same time, due to the epidemiological situation in Korea, the number of passengers on each charter flight should not exceed 60 people.
It was noted that when the Human Resources Development Service examined the information provided by citizens on quarantine in the Republic of Korea, some of them were inaccurate; the place of isolation did not meet the established requirements, the issues of return to work and self-isolation were not agreed with employers, so some citizens were denied entry to the country for violating the law.
“It should be noted that in our country citizens’ quarantine expenses are covered by the state. In South Korea, these costs are the responsibility of the citizen or his employers. Departing citizens voluntarily agreed to these terms and resolved the issue of 14-day quarantine in consultation with their employers.
Such situations, in turn, may lead to the unavailability of jobs in Korea for our citizens, depriving them of the opportunity to earn a good income legally. At the same time, it creates distrust of Uzbek labor migrants and negatively affects the image of Uzbekistan in the world arena,” the agency said.
It was noted that the Agency for External Labor Migration will continue to work on attracting citizens to work abroad on the basis of the principles of order, security and legality.
