Consulate General of Turkey to open in Samarkand
The Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey will open in the city of Samarkand by the end of 2020.
According to the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers “On measures to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Turkey and expand multifaceted cooperation”, the technical assistance of the Turkish government will be expanded in the following areas with the involvement of leading Turkish experts:
- capacity building in health infrastructure management;
- strengthening the institutional and regulatory framework in the field of seismology, introducing modern international standards;
- assistance in the implementation of international standards in the field of construction and efficient use of roads and roadside infrastructure;
- implementation of the best solutions and technologies in the field of electronic government.
It is noted that the Consulate General of Turkey will open in the city of Samarkand by the end of 2020.
The document also approved a program of measures to bring Uzbekistan – Turkey relations to a qualitatively new level and created a coordination council to expand multifaceted cooperation with Turkey, which analyzes the implementation of the program of measures and provides practical assistance in realizing the projects.
Earlier it was reported that Uzbekistan and Turkey agreed to bring trade turnover to $5 billion in the near future.
