Another solar station to be built in Surkhandarya
Its capacity will be 300 MW. It is planned to complete the joint project with ADB by 2024.
The work has begun on implementing the second phase of the Sherabad Solar Photovoltaic Plant (PVP) project (Sherabad II), the Ministry of Energy reported.
It will be implemented jointly by the Ministry of Energy and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The Sherabad II provides for the construction of a 300 MW photovoltaic plant in the Sherabad district, Surkhandarya region. Completion of construction is scheduled for 2024. The new station will be located close to the facilities of the Sherabad I PVP.
“2 PVPs, with an annual output of more than 1.1 billion kWh, will provide about 30% of the annual electricity consumption in the region. Currently, the average consumption of electricity in the Surkhandarya region is 3.2 billion kWh,” the Ministry of Energy noted.
