Open-air ice rink to open in Tashkent

On January 7, an open-air rink will be opened in the territory of the Alisher Navoi State Academic Grand Theatre in Tashkent, the press service of the Tourism Committee informs.
The Outdoor Rink project is being implemented by the State Committee for Tourism Development with the support of the Tashkent city administration. The aim is to promote a healthy lifestyle and sports among the population.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development, Aziz Abdukhakimov, visited the rink with the officials and discussed the issues related to the implementation of the project. The urban outdoor rink and the co-festive zone are set for one month. During this time, a number of cultural, entertaining and sporting events will take place at the ice rink in the open air.
On the opening of the ice rink on January 7, 2021, the star of the Russian ice sports, the Olympic figure skating champion Alexei Yagudin will perform his “The Winter” program. Also, a concert of Uzbek artists will be held on the stage.
The organizers of the event will create a food court zone, where the best brands of fast food, confectionery and coffee are presented. There will be skating and other accessories available next to the rink.
