Uzbekistan resumes electricity supply to Afghanistan after disruptions
Uzbekistan has increased its electricity supply to Afghanistan to 400 MW, Tolonews reports with reference to Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DAB).
Earlier, DAB reported that Uzbekistan had reduced its electricity supply from 300 MW to 150 MW after a power breakdown.
According to the publication, efforts are underway to increase Afghanistan’s electricity imports to 450 MW and to normalize the country’s energy supply.
To note, last week, the Talimarjan Power Plant shut down twice. On January 5, the unplanned disconnection of two power stations led to a breakdown in the power systems of Uzbekistan and neighboring countries. On 8 January, two GWP with a total capacity of 900 MW was suspended due to the operation of the technological protection system.
